Administrative Assistant
Position Summary
Ignatian Associates™ are searching for an adaptable, community-minded person to join them as a remote, part-time Administrative Assistant. Ignatian Associates is a non-profit organization consisting of seven unique communities centered around the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola. The position will begin in January 2027.
Our Administrative Assistant will have a very flexible schedule, able to work remotely to provide essential organizational support to the members, leadership, and Board of Directors. While the number of hours will vary, the position will require an average of 10-15 hours per week. Once per year, our Administrative Assistant will be required to attend our multi-community gathering, which will take place in Griswold, Iowa in July (expenses for the trip will be covered). This position will work as an independent contractor.
Our Administrative Assistant serves as a central point of contact for internal and external communications, maintains organizational records and resources, supports meetings and events, and assists the Board of Directors with operations and visioning. A more detailed job description will be provided upon interview.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, responsive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with a wide range of audiences. The ability to facilitate communication in both English and Spanish could be advantageous but is not required to perform this job. They will report to the Board of Directors.
Required Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with members, leadership, Board members, and external partners.
- Proficiency with email, video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, websites, and standard office technology.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with committees, leadership, and Board members.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling organizational information appropriately.
Optional Additional Qualifications
- Proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations, membership organizations, or community-based organizations.
- Experience supporting a Board of Directors or similar governing body.
- Familiarity with Jesuit ministries, Ignatian spirituality, or related organizations.
- Experience maintaining websites, membership databases, or other organizational information systems.
- Experience working with diverse cultures
